Finistere Ventures II, L.P. is a fund of Finistere Ventures, LLC and Verdex Capital specializing in early stage and growth stage investments. It typically invests in agricultural technology with a focus on technology solutions in food productivity, energy, sustainability, plant nutrition, climate change, biologicals, seed technology, digital agriculture, novel farm, changing population demographics, genetics, new chemicals or biologics, ag-related hardware and software development, technology promoting nutrition, food quality and food safety, and novel systems such as robotics, drones, and urban farming. It prefers to invest in companies that hold research patents or technologies with global potential to boost food and agricultural production. The fund seeks to invest globally with a focus on North America including Canada and the United States. 80 percent of the fund will be invested in North America and up to 20 percent will be invested outside the region with a focus on Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Israel. The fund seeks to invest between $2 million and $3 million.
